BREAKING NEWS! Destin Daniel Cretton is reportedly in talks to direct Spider-Man 4 starring Tom Holland. Cretton is known for previously directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) and the upcoming Wonder Man for Marvel Studios. This news comes just weeks after we found out from Marvel insider DanielRPK that Spider-Man 4 is apparently going to be released in between Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027), which means that yes, it is probably going to be another multiversal movie. With this news also comes a filming start update, with filming apparently starting in early 2025 with a summer 2026 release window. The Spider-Man 4 script is reportedly being penned by Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
This is cool news!…. But I’m worried. In my opinion, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) was a pretty mid film. But hopefully he does right with Marvel Studios best character.
