James Gunn Has Revealed What Title He Would Hypothetically Give A Superman And Batman Film/ Superman (2025) Gets Amazing News

In a recent post to DC Studios co-CEO and Superman (2025) director James Gunn’s Threads, a fan asked, “In the hypothetical case that a movie starring only Superman and Batman (teaming) came out, what would you call it? Superman and Batman or Batman and Superman?” to which Gunn replied “World's Finest.”

“World’s Finest Comics” was a comic book series published from 1941 to 1986, starring mainly Superman and Batman. DC fans will notice that this means James Gunn is familiar with classic comics and the source material. This shows a dedication and love for this world. Very excited, and I hope that DC Studios does make a Superman and Batman film at some point, as the DCU's mainline Batman is set to debut in The Brave and the Bold, starring Batman and Robin as the main characters.

In other news, according to DC and Marvel insider DanielRPK, Superman (2025) is the "polar opposite" of Man Of Steel (2013). Read what he said below:

I've also heard that the new Superman movie is fantastic, and they're going all out. It's a complete shift to hardcore sci-fi and fantasy, the exact opposite of Man of Steel. It's set in a world very different from ours and far removed from the DCEU. Heroes have been around for ages, and we'll see how it affected this world's history and has shaped the DCU. The DCU will feature various projects set across different timelines, not just present day. So more in line with the approach of Star Wars than Marvel.

This is awesome news! I personally liked Man of Steel (2013) as a film in and of itself, but I do not think it was a good SUPERMAN movie. Superman needs to be light and hopeful, not dark and broody like Batman. I am also excited to see that the DCU will jump to different points in time, and be fantasy. My only worry is that it will be too fantasy, and even if it is a comic book world, I don't want it to be completely silly. But still very excited for Superman (2025) and the DCU in general.

Superman hits theaters on July 11, 2025!

The Brave and the Bold hits theaters around probably 2027/2028!
