Spoilers for Thunderbolts* (2025)
Marvel Studios’ newest film Thunderbolts* came out last week, and has been met with both critical and fan acclaim, becoming the highest rated MCU film since Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Especially with the reveal of the asterisk standing for *The New Avengers, the hype and the box office numbers have stayed strong. According to many sources, Marvel Studios had an incredible experience working with the cast and crew of the film, particularly director Jake Schreier.
Marvel is currently working on a reboot of the X-Men films, now set in the MCU. According to Deadline, Jake Schreier has been in talks to direct the upcoming X-Men reboot, and a deal is close to finalizing. Marvel is reportedly very impressed with Thunderbolts* and the positive critical reception, believing that the film was very well done by Schreier.
X-Men has a script written by Michael Lesslie and is supposed to release after Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).
This is awesome. I’m very interested to see how Marvel handles this X-Men reboot. After seeing Thunderbolts*, I think that Schreier has proven that he can handle team-up movies well and I think he’d do a great job with X-Men.
The untitled X-Men reboot releases in theaters sometime after 2027!
