We have two new updates for you today in one trusty article!
To start, a sequel to DC Studios' Superman (2025) might not be that far away. During an interview with Phase Hero, co-CEO of DC Studios and the writer/director of Superman (2025), James Gunn, was asked by the interviewer, "When?" concerning a possible sequel to Superman (2025). Gunn responded, "[in] a couple of years." Moments later, Gunn said, "Well, no, you might see him... You'll see him before then."
Gunn has teased that Superman will show up sooner than we think before, so I have full confidence that a Superman 2 or possibly a Superman/Batman team-up movie will be released before 2030 at the latest. (Side note: I am excited to share that I will be watching Superman (2025) on July 10, 2025, at an early screening!)
On to our next piece of news, The Batman (2022) director and co-writer Matt Reeves shared on Instagram a blurry image of him and screenwriter Mattson Tomlin sitting behind the completed script for the Untitled The Batman Sequel (2027).

Filming is expected to start in late 2025/early 2026 for an October 2027 release and will be directed by Reeves.
I am very glad Reeves shared this image. Many people have been speculating that the Untitled The Batman Sequel (2027) had been canceled. The announcement of the completed script will ease a lot of people's nerves. Very excited for the film.
Superman releases in theaters on July 11, 2025!
