Ryan Reynolds, who played Deadpool in Fox’s Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018), and is back as the Merc With The Mouth in the MCU’s newest film Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), and Hugh Jackman, who has played Wolverine since X-Men (2000), expressed in an interview that they want to team up with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. When asked what superhero they would want to team up with in a future movie, Reynolds said “If I could pick one, I’d love to play with Spider-Man, Tom Holland is amazing.” Jackman agreed, saying, “I agree. He’s so cool. That would be great. And he’s young. We could pile on him and abuse him. You know, just yell at him.” Reynolds also expressed wanting to test out Spidey’s own healing powers. “You can’t hurt him!” he exclaimed. “You can hit him as hard as you want. He gets right back up.” A Spider-Man/Deadpool/Wolverine team up is not that out there, as it has happened multiple times in the comics. And with Deadpool and Wolverine officially in the MCU, it’s more likely then ever.
I’m so glad that Ryan and Hugh want this, as Ryan Reynolds is shown to have talent for getting Kevin Feige to do what he wants. Hopefully this happens! The most likely movie for this to happen in would be Avengers 5 or Avengers: Secret Wars, so we will see.
