Marvel Studios upcoming X-Men film is in development, and fans are already hyped. The X-Men have been kept from the MCU for quite a while due to Marvel not having the film rights to one of their most iconic teams. But with Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox, Marvel Studios has access to all of their X-Men. We have already seen that Marvel can make amazing X-Men content, as X-Men ‘97 (2024) was arguably the best MCU project in years, and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) was a beautiful send off to the Fox X-Men universe, while also being a quality and funny film. Ok enough with the background let’s get to the news:
According to Marvel insider DanielRPK, Wolverine will not be a part of the MCU’s X-Men. See exactly what he said below:
"I hear the current treatment for the MCU X-Men reboot does not include Wolverine, at all. Rest of the team is similar to the ‘X-Men 97’ cartoon plus some. But no Wolverine because Hugh Jackman is sticking around for now. Likely even post ‘Secret Wars.’”
This is very interesting. Hugh Jackman sticking around makes sense, now that Marvel has him back they are never going to let him go. The X-Men ‘97 (2024) lineup is pretty much perfect so I’m okay with that. Overall I’m just excited for a MCU X-Men team! Though I will say that Marvel Studios is definitely going to have Wolverine at least interact with the team, especially since Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) just earned them over a billion dollars.
The currently untitled X-Men film comes out around 2027!
